چکیده

Aedes aegypti (L., 1762) and albopictus (Skuse, 1895) (Diptera: Culicidae) are important vectors of arboviruses. In Turkey, Ae. eggs were detected in the Thrace area northwestern Turkey for first time 2011. 2015, studies revealed spread detection within northeastern was reported. This paper reports results a survey presence distribution conducted over 5 years. Mosquito Surveillance and the First Record of the Invasive Mosquito Species Aedes (Stegomyia) albopictus (Skuse) (Diptera: Culicidae) in Southern Iran

BACKGROUND Epidemics of mosquito-borne viral infections such as dengue, chikungunya, West Nile and Rift Valley fevers in neighbouring countries and risk of introduction of exotic vectors into Iran have placed this country at a significant risk for these mosquito-borne diseases. METHODS After the first dengue case reported in Iran in 2008, active entomological surveillance of Aedes albopictus ...

Interspecific Competition Between Two Invasive Species of Container Mosquitoes, Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus (Diptera: Culicidae), in Brazil

As a result of numerous successful invasions by bothAedes albopictus (Skuse) andAdes aegypti (L.), the current worldwide distributions of these mosquito species overlap. Shared larval habitats and shifts in the distribution and abundance of resident A. albopictus or A. aegypti after the establishment of the other species suggest that competitive displacement occurs. Experiments on larval compet...

Distribution and density of Aedes aegypti (L) and Aedes albopictus (Skuse) in Sarawak.

A total of 73 localities covering 4,894 premises and 26, 712 breeding habitats were surveyed in 1980 to determine and establish the density and distribution pattern of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus in Sarawak. A similar pattern has been observed in the density of the Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. The number of houses positive with Aedes larvae were found to be highest in the coastal ...
